Job Description
A Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a safe, hygienic, and orderly environment by performing a variety of cleaning tasks in residential, commercial, or industrial facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, and wax floors using brooms, mops, or floor‑scrubbing machines.
- Vacuum carpets, rugs, and upholstery to remove dust and debris.
- Dust surfaces such as desks, shelves, and equipment using cloths or duster tools.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
- Empty and replace trash cans, recycling bins, and maintain waste‑disposal procedures.
- Wash windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces using appropriate cleaners and squeegees.
- Spot‑clean spills and stains on various surfaces using suitable cleaning agents.
- Shampoo or steam‑clean carpets and upholstery to deep clean them.
- Clean kitchen areas, including countertops, appliances, floors, and grease removal.
- Restock cleaning supplies, paper products, and sanitation materials as needed.
- Maintain and operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor‑polishers, and pressure washers.
- Report maintenance or safety issues (e.g., leaky faucets, broken fixtures) to facility management.
- Follow safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and chemical handling guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations, building codes, and organizational standards for cleanliness.
- Perform final walkthrough inspections to verify that all areas meet cleanliness standards before occupants return.
